Chamber Works Uses Industry Leading Products

website development - Chamber Works, Inc. Chamber Works uses industry leading products, predominantly from Microsoft and Adobe. Our servers are Microsoft servers and our databases are Microsoft SQL Server databases. Our web solutions are developed using ColdFusion, Flex, HTML, XML, Java, Java Script, SQL, and Flash. We host all web sites that we develop, providing our customers with one source for full-service web site design, development, and hosting.

Chamber Works continues to proactively upgrade technologies in order to rapidly and affordably provide powerful Internet applications to small businesses. Chamber Works customers have affordable access to more enterprise level products and services than ever before. Chamber Works customers benefit from world class hosting, best practices development, premium email services, best-in-class ecommerce, structured reporting (including on-the-fly conversion of web site data to PDF), and much more.

Chamber Works has made some key decisions and investments over the years and those within the company feel very fortunate as to how things have "panned" out to benefit the company and Chamber Works customers. In 1998, we made the decision to use ColdFusion as our web development platform of choice. At the time, this software product was provided by a small private company (Allaire). During our decision process, we extensively compared ColdFusion against Microsoft's ASP environment and found that we could deliver the same applications in a shorter time and with simpler code by using ColdFusion (we are still very pro-Microsoft).

Allaire was purchased by Macromedia (the makers of Flash) and this merger uniquely positioned ColdFusion developers to make rapid applications that fully integrated Flash (shipped with over 98% of the world's web browsers) with ColdFusion web applications. Most people have seen Flash in action as fancy web site introductions. On a larger scale, being able to securely pass database driven information to the Flash player, and providing more graphically rich content, continues to present exciting opportunities for Chamber Works customers.

Adobe Systems then acquired Macromedia in an all stock deal valued at approximately 3.4 billion dollars. This has been a great occurrence for ColdFusion developers and their customers, as so many industry leading products are now under one roof. A small sample of Adobe products includes ColdFusion, Dreamweaver, Flash, Flex, Illustrator, PhotoShop, and Acrobat (PDF files).
